How to Prevent Oxidation and Degradation of Lubricating Oil Storage?
Date:2025-11-04 13:34     Source:cnthyf     Browse:39

Lubricating grease will oxidize and deteriorate during long-term storage. To prevent oxidation and deterioration of stored oil products, the following aspects must be noted during storage:

1. Avoid direct contact between metals and lubricating grease. The stored oil and containers should be clean to prevent or minimize contact with metals and metal ions that promote oil oxidation.

2. Appropriate storage temperature. If the temperature is too high, it will accelerate the oxidation reaction process. Therefore, it is recommended to store lubricating grease in a cool and shady place as much as possible.

3. Avoid pollution, especially avoiding contact with substances that render additives in oil ineffective, such as water, various harmful metals, etc. For some oil products with strong additive activity, storage time should be minimized as much as possible.

4. A sealed environment with minimal contact with air. Adopting effective measures for sealed storage can not only reduce contact with air, but also prevent the invasion of pollutants.

5. Avoid direct sunlight, place in places where moisture can easily corrode, and try to avoid long-term storage of oil products
